Several high school baseball teams began action in the fourth-annual Forrest Wood Wood Bat Classic on Thursday.
Cotter was able to win both of its games on the first day. The Warriors doubled up Green Forest 8-4 in their opener and defeated Salem 9-1 in the late game.
Norfork came out on the losing end in both of its games. The Panthers fell to Salem 8-3 and were edged out by Green Forest 5-4.
In other games in the classic, Flippin lost to Bakersfield 7-6, and Viola also fell to Bakersfield 1-0.
