Tuesday results include MHHS baseball, softball teams splitting Senior Day games with Greenbrier

The Mountain Home High School baseball team had mixed results on Tuesday as they hosted Greenbrier for a doubleheader on Senior Day. The Bombers took the first game 10-7, but they were edged out by the Panthers 3-2 in the late game. Mountain Home is now 15-11-1 on the season, and they’ll go across the state line on Friday to meet Fair Grove.

The 1A-2 District Baseball Tournament got underway at West Side High School in Greers Ferry. Norfork was able to secure a regional tournament bid by defeating Rural Special 12-2. Calico Rock’s season came to an end with a 12-2 loss to Concord.

Salem’s baseball team was eliminated from the 3A-2 District Tournament at Walnut Ridge. The Greyhounds suffered a 7-5 defeat to Cave City.

The Mammoth Spring baseball team was one and done in the 1A-3 District Tournament at Marked Tree. The Bears fell to the host Indians 12-2.

Elsewhere, Gainesville lost to Mansfield 14-2.

Mountain Home’s softball team also split its Senior Day doubleheader with Greenbrier.
The Lady Bombers began the day with a 4-0 loss to the Lady Panthers. Natalie Fleet went 1-for-2 and drew a walk, and Daelyn Harper was 1-for-3.
Kiley Horne drove in three runs on a walkoff bases-clearing double to push Mountain Home past Greenbrier 6-5 in the second game. Horne went 1-for-3 and was hit by a pitch. Ava Fosness was 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk, Karleigh Drewry went 1-for-3 and drove in a run, and Laken Anderson and Emma King were each 1-for-3.
The Lady Bombers are now 13-11 overall and 8-4 in the 5A-West, and they’ll wrap up conference play next Tuesday with a doubleheader at Alma.

The 1A-2 District Softball Tournament began at West Side High School in Greers Ferry. Norfork began the day with a 22-4 victory over Rural Special, but they later fell to Viola 18-0. Calico Rock was toppled by West Side 11-1.

Mountain View’s softball team was bounced from the 3A-2 District Tournament at Walnut Ridge. The Lady Yellowjackets lost to Tuckerman 5-3.

In other softball, Cotter beat Flippin 15-4, Bakersfield fell to Cabool 11-8, Gainesville lost to Ava 17-7, and Marshall was edged out by Valley Springs 7-6.
