MHHS track teams finish 2nd in 5A-West Conference Meet; Harrison girls end up 4th, boys 8th

The Mountain Home High School track teams went to Alma on Wednesday and finished second in the 5A-West Conference Meet. Russellville was crowned the champions on both sides.

For the Lady Bombers, Ali Czanstkowski won the long jump and ended up second in the 100-meter hurdles and fifth in the high jump, Merritt McConnell took third place in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, Micayla Magis finished third in the discus, Bailey Ritenburg was third in the 800-meter run, Pixie Bolick ended up third in the 300-meter hurdles and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles, Mackenzi Clark took fourth place in the 400-meter dash, Jada Johnson finished fourth in the 200-meter dash, Olivia McCoy was fifth in the pole vault, Kori Scroggins ended up fifth in the discus, Malia Beshears took fifth place in the 1600-meter run, and Cisily Goettler finished fifth in the 3200-meter run. Mountain Home’s team of McConnell, Jada Johnson, Czanstkowski and Camilla Johnson won the 4×200-meter relay; Clark, Anna McCarn, Bolick and Ritenburg were third in the 4×400-meter relay; and Goettler, Erin Smith, Jamie Chandler and Ritenburg ended up third in the 4×800-meter relay.

Harrison’s girls took fourth place. The Lady Goblins’ Laiklyn Stephens won the triple jump and the 300-meter hurdles.

For the Bomber boys, Eli Jones won the shot put and the discus, Trenton Smith won the 3200-meter run, Zach Daugherty won the pole vault and finished second in the 400-meter dash, Adam Jones was second in the pole vault, William Hill ended up second in the 800-meter run, Barrett Miller took second place in the 200-meter dash and third in the 100-meter dash, Hendrix Hughes finished second in the 3200-meter run and third in the 1600-meter run, Robert Dover was second in the discus and fourth in the shot put, Levi Uchtman ended up third in the high jump, Connor King took third place in the 800-meter run, David Baxley finished fourth in the pole vault, and Gus Wilber was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. The team of Smith, Garrett Barr, Caiden Kaspar and King won the 4×800-meter relay; and Miller, Connor Schulz, Barr and Hill won the 4×400-meter relay.

Harrison ended up eighth in the boys’ team standings.
