MHHS softball team tops Vilonia in 8 innings to end regular season

The Mountain Home High School softball team needed eight innings, but they were able to win their regular season finale 8-7 over Vilonia on Friday. Emma King picked up the victory in the circle. Daelyn Harper led the Lady Bombers as she was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Laken Anderson went 1-for-2 and drew two walks, Karleigh Drewry was 1-for-3 with a walk, and Kiley Horne went 1-for-4 and drove in a run. Mountain Home improves to 16-11 on the season.

Mountain Home also took the junior varsity game over Vilonia 3-0. Natalie Fleet was the winning pitcher for the J.V. Lady Bombers as she recorded five strikeouts.

Mountain Home will begin action in the Class 5A State Tournament Thursday at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison, and their opening opponent will be Texarkana.
