GRIFFIN:  At approximately 6 a. m. we were called to 305 Sunnyann Lane, Mountain Home, which is just off Spring Street. We had a report of a deceased female. The female was a 36-year-old Mountain Home resident. Upon arrival, we determined that it possibly was under suspicious circumstances. Our investigators, along with Arkansas State Police investigators, conducted a preliminary investigation, and as a result, Dusty Wheeler, 44 years of age, of Mountain Home, was placed in Baxter County Jail on a charge of first degree murder with a $1 million bond.

Griffin says they are not releasing the victim’s name at this time.

He says no one else was at home at the time of the shooting at the home the two shared and called it a domestic situation that led to the shooting.

The Mountain Home Police Chief says the investigation is continuing and more details will be released at a later time.
