West Plains man sustains serious injuries when he struck a deer on his motorcycle

A West Plains man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident late Saturday night in Oregon County, Mo.

According to the incident report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Dustin Boatright of West Plains was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 160, just two miles north of Rover, Mo. at approximately 10:45 at night when he struck a deer in the roadway. Boatright was ejected after impact from his 2023 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.

Boatright was transported by air to CoxHealth South in Springfield for treatment.
