Baxter County man injured after motorcycle hits deer, guard rail

A Baxter County man suffered what were termed suspected serious injuries on June 14 after his motorcycle hit a deer and a guard rail, and he was thrown from an embankment. Sixty-five-year-old Robert Harvey of rural Cotter was transported by ambulance to Baxter Health.

According to the crash report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Harvey was traveling on Denton Ferry Road when the deer ran out and hit the front of the motorcycle. The bike then swerved across the road and hit the rail, causing Harvey to go down the embankment. He had injuries to his right arm and side.

Damage to the motorcycle was estimated at $3,500 following the 10:42 a.m. accident.
