So far, 2024 has been teetering back and forth with precipitation being above average in one month and below average the next month. June followed that trend with below-average rainfall, and no records were broken during the month.

For a while, it appeared the previous month might end up in the top 10 among driest Junes. However, 1.37 inches of rain were recorded on the morning of June 27 at KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, the official reporting station for the National Weather Service in Mountain Home. That daily total was more than the rest of the month combined.

The total rainfall for June was 2.67 inches. That is 1.21 inches below the month’s average of 3.88 inches.

The Twin Lakes Area does remain above average for the first half of the year. For the first six months of 2024, the total precipitation recorded was 28.2 inches. That is 1.45 inches above the period’s average rainfall of 26.75 inches.

The warmest temperature recorded last month was 97 degrees on June 25 and 30, and the coolest was 55 on June 10. The average high for the month was 86.3 degrees, and the average low was 65.7.
