On Monday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced they will permanently closed five Disaster Recovery Centers in Arkansas. The centers in Fulton, Greene, Madison, Marion and Randolph counties will close Tuesday afternoon at 4. Centers in Benton and Baxter counties will remain open.

Arkansans in Baxter, Benton, Boone, Fulton, Greene, Madison, Marion and Randolph counties affected by the strong storms and tornadoes of May 24-27 may seek FEMA assistance at any Disaster Recovery Center.

In Baxter County, the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, located at 1042 Highland Circle in Mountain Home, will be open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 until 4. And in Benton County, the Northwest Arkansas Community College Becky Paneitz Student Center, located at 1211 SE Eagle Way in Bentonville, will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 until 6. They will be closed Sundays.

Officials say it is not necessary to visit a center to apply. Survivors can go online to disasterassistance.gov, use the FEMA mobile app or call 800-621-3362. The line is open every day from 6 until 11, Central Time and help is available in most languages. If anyone uses a relay service, such as video relay (VRS), captioned telephone or other service, give FEMA the number for that service.
