Former Crittenden County court clerk pleads guilty to stealing over $300,000 in court fines

On Monday, a former district court clerk in Marion, Arkansas, pleaded guilty to stealing more than $300,000 in court fines.

33-year-old Megan Goudy was fired and charged with theft and forgery two years ago after an investigation found evidence she allegedly misappropriated over $320,000 in court fines between 2019 and 2022.

Court records show Goudy was sentenced to 20 years of probation, ordered to pay $384,000 in restitution to the city of Marion and will serve 120 days in the Crittenden County Detention Center, where she is currently held.
