Gassville man arrested after allegedly stealing a Gator from a Cotter resident

A Gassville man has been arrested after allegedly stealing and damaging a vehicle. Sixty-one-year-old Danny Haley is facing charges of theft of property and criminal mischief.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on September 5, the Cotter Police Department responded to a theft complaint. The victim said he arrived on his property around 3:30 in the afternoon and, around 5, noticed his 2019 John Deere Gator was missing. He later drove to Haley’s home in Gassville, where he located the Gator in the backyard behind a shed, where he observed noticeable damage to the door and roof of the vehicle.

The victim stated Haley did not have permission to be on the victim’s property or to take the John Deere Gator. The damage caused to the vehicle is estimated at $1,568.75.

Haley was arrested and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center. He is facing one felony count of theft of property and second-degree criminal mischief. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
