A pickup truck was destroyed by a fire Friday afternoon in the middle of U.S. Highway 62/412 in Gassville. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
According to the Gassville Fire Department, personnel were dispatched just after 2 to the scene near Genuine Care Pharmacy. When Gassville firefighters arrived, Cotter-Gassville Rural Fire Department personnel were already on the scene, and the truck was fully engulfed in the middle turn lane. Gassville firefighters took over command and extinguished the blaze as they were also assisted by the Cotter Fire Department, Gassville Police Department and other law-enforcement personnel. Crews were on the scene for nearly an hour.
The report did not specify if there were any injuries.
