Emergency officials say it's a miracle there were no injuries yesterday evening when apparent straight line winds damaged at least a dozen mobile homes at the Country Life Mobile Home Park in Midway. Sheriff John Montgomery said from the preliminary evaluation seven mobile homes sustained heavy damage, one was overturned with three other mobile homes having trees collapse on their roofs. A spokesperson at the Baxter County 911 Operations Center said the National Weather Service did not detect any rotation on radar when the storm struck just after 6 p.m. The County was under a severe thunderstorm warning at the time.
Montgomery said the initial call at 6:13 p.m. had people trapped in some of the damaged mobile homes with deputies along with rescue personnel from the Midway Volunteer Fire Department arriving and assisting residents from their damaged homes. He said all residents were accounted for.
One of the residents of the park, 22-year old Roxanne Buege and her husband, Bo, and their children were in their trailer when it struck and afterwards she described the storm.

That was Roxanne Buege, a resident of the Country Life Mobile Home Park on Highway 5 North at Midway that was hit by straight line winds that damaged a number of trailers at the facility yesterday evening.
The Salvation Army and Red Cross were assisting those impacted.
The storm also caused power outages in Midway and the Oakland-Promise Land area.
