Nearly $10,000 raised by a local bank's annual golf tournament will be donated to three local non-profit organizations. Arvest Bank North Central Arkansas is donating the proceeds from its 16th Annual Arvest Charity Golf Tournament to Kindness, Inc., Children's Charity Ministry and Court Appointed Special Advocates. Each organization will receive $3,300.
Arvest Bank Marketing Director Tiffany Watkins said the bank is thrilled to have raised nearly $10,000 for the organizations. She said the funds raised this year was a record amount for the tournament and she said the bank plans to grow the event as a way to benefit area communities. She expressed thanks to those who served on the tournament committee and those who participated.
Kindness, Inc. operates without federal, state, county or municipal funds and provides transportation, respite care, house visits and other services to the elderly and disabled in Baxter and Marion Counties. The Children's Charity Ministry works to teach children to help other children in 42 different schools in eight counties to provide food, clothing, hygiene items, clothing school supplies and more. Volunteers with the Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, provide advocacy in the court system for more than 100 abused and neglected children each year.
The Arvest charity committee sponsors the annual golf tournament to raise funds to support local charitable organizations in Baxter, Boone and Marion counties.
