Bomber is a drug-sniffing dog that is housed at the Guy Berry College and Career Academy, also known as the A. L. E. or alternative school. Bomber's handler is School Resource Officer Eddie Helmert of the Mountain Home Police Department.

The $3,500 dog, an 18-month-old yellow Lab, was purchased through donations, including a $2,000 check from a forfeiture account set up to hold money seized in drug-related offenses. Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery and 14th Judicial District Prosecutor Ron Kincade recently presented the check to Officer Helmert and School Director Jeff Kincade.

Although Bomber is housed at the alternative school, he will also be available for use at other schools and in non-school situations.
