Carter named AmeriCorps representative

Community Connections for Youth and Families Inc. recently announced that Teresa Carter has been named AmeriCorps Community Initiative of Arkansas Representative for the Baxter County Alternative School. Carter is an ASUMH student majoring in Criminal Justice and is a mentor for the T.I.M.E. Mentoring Program. As a volunteer she will spearhead efforts to provide young people with educational support and healthy lifestyle activities. She will also work to provide safe after-school activities, recruit volunteers, provide future marketable skills through effective education and efforts to give back to the community through community service.
