...that was the sound of the Mountain Home High School Brass Ensemble at last night's Myrtle Wood Chamberlain Tree Lighting Ceremony held at the Baxter County Courthouse.
The annual event, which kicks off the Christmas Season in the Twin Lakes area, featured local businessman and civic leader Danny Ponder as the guest speaker. In his remarks, Ponder challenged the community to give back this Christmas Season.
Brenda Spencer served as Mistress of Ceremonies at the annual tree lighting ceremony with Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery flipping the switch to light the Christmas Tree on the Courthouse Square. Rev. Rodney Steele from First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home delivered the Christmas Prayer.
The annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce followed the tree lighting ceremony. The theme of this year's parade, one of the biggest in recent history, was "A Storybook Christmas." Susannah Alms, Marketing Director at the Chamber has the winners of this year's parade.
