Three students at Norfork schools have had their artwork selected for inclusion in the 52nd Annual Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition. The Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition showcases artworks of all media created by Arkansas students in kindergarten through 12th grade, both public and private. It is organized by the Arkansas Arts Center with the Cooperation of the Arkansas Department of Education.
The three are 12th grader Halen Parnell, whose entry is titled "Neglect", 10th grade student Miranda Vanlandingham, and ninth grader Tabitha Saldana. The entries submitted by Vanlandingham and Saldana were untitled. All three entries were batik.
The entries by all three students were also selected to be in the 2013-2014 Arkansas Art Traveling Show.
Art instructors across the state submitted 500 artworks for consideration from Arkansas' schools or arts programs. Members from the Arkansas Art Educators served as jurors in the selection process. The artwork will be display at the Arkansas Arts Center March 15th through April 28th.
