FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ Arkansas coach Bret Bielema has announced former
Kansas State assistant coach Michael Smith is the new wide receivers coach for
the Razorbacks.
Smith, who spent the last three seasons in the same position for the Wildcats,
replaces George McDonald, who resigned from Arkansas earlier this week to become
the offensive coordinator at Syracuse.
Smith, who also played at Kansas State, spent the first 11 seasons of his
coaching career with the Wildcats. He later spent a season at Rice and two
seasons at Arizona before returning to Kansas State in 2009.
The hire follows Bielema's hiring of Barry Lunney Jr. as tight ends coach
earlier this week and completes his coaching staff with the Razorbacks.
