The Bee Gees with Barbara Gibb at the 1997 American Music Awards; Frank Trapper/Corbis via Getty ImagesBarbara Gibb, the mother of the Bee Gees‘ Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, as well as singer Andy Gibb, died in Miami, Florida, on Friday night at the age of 95, according to Billboard magazine.
Gibb was with family and friends when she died, according to a statement from Barry’s publicist.
In addition to her four sons, Barbara had a daughter, Lesley.
The children’s father was Hugh Gibb, a bandleader whom Barbara married in 1944. The couple managed their sons’ early music career.
Andy died in 1988 at the age of 30 from a heart condition. Maurice died in 2003 at age 53 due to complications of a twisted intestine, and his twin, Robin, died in 2012 at age 62 from liver and kidney failure after battling cancer.
Funeral services will remain private. Donations in Barbara Gibb’s name can be made to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
