Kevin Mazur/WireImageKevin James has been saying for a while now that he wants his pal Billy Joel to guest-star on his CBS sitcom, Kevin Can Wait. Now, it’s happening.
Long Island’s Newsday reports that Billy will appear on this coming Monday’s episode, titled “Kevin’s Bringing Back Supper.” The episode description is as follows: “Kevin’s resolve to spend more quality time with his family is put to the ultimate test when his buddies surprise him with concert tickets to his favorite musician, fellow Long Islander Billy Joel.”
Billy’s appearance on the sitcom is no surprise, since the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer recently told Newsday that a cameo was in the works, adding, “He’s a good guy. We’ll definitely do something for him.”
The cameo is more of a payback than anything, since Kevin who, like Billy, hails from Long Island, NY, has appeared onstage with the Piano Man several times.
According to Newsday, the last time Billy appeared on a prime-time scripted series was in 1999, on an episode of NBC’s Mad About You.
