Phil Ellsworth / ESPN Images(CHICAGO) — The Chicago Cubs will reportedly pay a visit to the White House before President Obama leaves office later this month.
A team source tells ESPN the 2016 World Series champions will go to Washington, D.C. on Monday.
The Cubs’ visit comes after Obama invited the team to the White House in November after they defeated the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in Game 7 of the World Series. The extra innings win marked Chicago’s first championship since 1908.
It happened: @Cubs win World Series. That’s change even this South Sider can believe in. Want to come to the White House before I leave?
