The 11-second clip shows Waters playing a bass part along to an apparently new track while sitting at a studio console.
The grooving instrumental segment is reminiscent of some of Pink Floyd’s classic 1970s work. Accompanying the video is a message that reads, simply, “yeah!”
In recent weeks, Waters has posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos of him in a recording studio. Roger’s last solo rock album of original material was 1992’s Amused to Death.
As previously reported, Waters will mount a lengthy North American trek dubbed the Us & Them tour this year. The outing kicks off May 26 in Kansas City, Missouri, and is mapped out through an October 28 show in Vancouver, Canada.
“It’ll be a mixture of stuff from my long career,” Roger explains in a video trailer promoting the tour posted on Twitter. “Stuff from my years with Pink Floyd, maybe the odd thing that I’ve done since then, new ideas, new concepts, new architecture, new projections. A completely new thing.”
