Shooting reported in parking lot of Arkansas health agency

     (AP) – Little Rock police are responding to a shooting in a

parking lot outside the Arkansas Department of Health.

     Little Rock police say the shooting occurred at midday Monday near the

department’s main offices on Markham Street. Health department spokeswoman Meg

Mirivel says officials don’t believe the shooting involved any employees of the

department.

     Police say one person was shot in the shoulder and was taken to a hospital.

Police said the victim’s wounds do not appear to be life-threatening.
