A Lakeview man, 34-year-old Christopher Wilson Packley, was arrested Tuesday evening on felony aggravated assault charges after deputies responded to a domestic violence call, involving shots fired, at 804 Hickory Flats Lane. According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Packley was booked into the Baxter County Jail on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court February 23rd.
Montgomery says deputies responded to a 911 call at 9:06 in the evening and when they arrived they made contact with an unidentified female. She told deputies she and her boyfriend, Christopher Packley, had been arguing and he had become belligerent and violent. The woman alleged that Packley threatened her, choked her, and held her down on the floor. She was holding her son while the attack was taking place.
She was eventually able to escape and fled from the residence on foot. As she was running, she alleged Packley fired three gunshots, from a rifle, in her direction.
When deputies made contact with Packley he admitted firing the three rounds from the rifle, but stated he fired up in the air and not in her direction. Deputies found and seized an AR-10 at the scene.
He was also charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
