Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery is notifying the public of a level 2 registered sex offender who has moved from Mountain Home to Jonesboro. The sheriff says 23 year old Quanderius A. Finch has moved from 234 County Road 618 in Mountain Home and is now residing at 1616 Westwood Drive in Jonesboro.
As a level 2 sex offender, Finch is considered at moderate risk to re-offend. He was convicted of sexual assault in 2013, when he was 18, of engaging in sexual contact with a then 13 year old female on more than once for a year. The sheriff says community notification is justified due to the age of the victim at the time the crime occurred.
Montgomery says Finch is not wanted by law enforcement and this notification is not intended to increase fear, but rather it is his opinion that an informed public is a safer public. This information can not be used to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders and citizen abuse will not be tolerated. Such abuse, says the sheriff, could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notifications.
