
In a busy legislative session this week Senator Missy Irvin highlights some of the key bills passed Monday paving the way for digital driver’s licenses, adding a personal finance course to graduation requirements and home school students to interact with private schools.
Senate Bill 428 would authorize the issuance of a digital copy of a driver’s license.

All local Senators were in favor of the measure. It moved to the House Committee on Public Transportation Tuesday.
Irvin says other key items passed during Monday’s session had to do with education, including high school graduation requirements.

Act 173 was signed into law recently, allowing a student who attends a private or home school to enroll in a public school academic course.
