
Local girls in junior and senior high school from Baxter, Fulton, Sharp and Stone Counties will be attending Future Women Leaders in STEM at Ozarka College in Melbourne Friday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. STEM represents the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and math.
Girls from Highland and Mountain View will be attending the conference for 7th and 8th grade girls. Girls from Mammoth Spring, Melbourne, Norfork, Salem and Viola will be participating in the conference for grades 9 through 12.
Professional leaders from education, industry and business will share ideas and their experiences with those in attendance. The conference is hosted by the rural STEM Education Center, the School of Teacher Education and Leadership at Arkansas State University, the College of Education and Behavioral Science at ASU, Ozarka College and Northcentral Arkansas Education Service Cooperative.
