Donald W. Reynolds Library to host the Literary Series

     The Donald W. Reynolds Library will be presenting its first Literary Series. The Literary Series has been developed to connect writers and readers in order to foster the love of literature and writing. The Literary Series is sponsored by the Friends of the Baxter County and will feature author workshops from March 13th through April 18th.
     Visiting authors will include:
     Carol Weston, author of the Ana Wren series and numerous juvenile fiction works will visit via a video chat on March 13th at 4 p.m.
     John Backderf, a famous American cartoonist, known for his international best seller My Friend Dahmer, will visit via a video chat on March 14th at 5 p.m.
     Maria Hoskins, Arkansas children's author of "Christmas Night on the Farm" and "Down Home in Arkansas", will be visiting the library March 28th at 6 p.m.
     Karen Akins, author of "Loop' and winner of the Arkansas Teen Book Award in 2016, will visit via a video chat on April 6th at 5 p.m.
     Sarah Prineas, fantasy author of "The Magic Thief" series, will visit via a video chat on April 10th at 4 p.m.
     George Jared, an Arkansas true-crime writer and investigative journalist, will visit the library April 11th at 2:15 p.m.
     C.J. Box, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Joe Pickett series, will visit via a video chat on April 15th at 10:30 a.m.
     Talya Tate Boerner, author of "The Accidental Salvation of Gracie Lee", will visit the library April 18th at 6 p.m.
     The Literary Series also includes numerous special events including a local author book sale and signing on March 19th at 1 p.m. A Creative Writing Workshop is scheduled for March 21st at 6 p.m., with English professor Craig Albin. There will be a self-publishing workshop with food-themed stories and a sampling of colorful fruits and vegetables on March 27th at 10:30 in the morning. March Madness Story Time is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28th. At this event participants will learn tips from author Maria Hoskins. An event entitled Home Waters, will feature a live performance of unique artistic fusion of: artist Duane Hada, poet Ken Hada, and musician Charlie Mink on March 30th a 6 in the evening. A songwriting session on April 4th at 5 p.m. will feature the songwriting duo, Sam and Violet. The last event scheduled is a Poetry Slam on April 11th at 5 p.m. with Slam Poet Milly Sroges.
