Hurricane relief items being gathered locally

Like communities across the country, Mountain Home has joined the many efforts to gather items needed by those caught in the path of Hurricane Havey.Christ Community Church (C3) is teaming up with the Austin Disaster Relief Network to provide assistance to victims of Hurricane Harvey. The Austin Disaster Relief Network is a supply hub for shelters in Houston and and South Texas. Over 30,000 people have been evacuated to shelters in the Houston area alone.Christ Community Church officials say other Mountain Home churches, businesses and individuals are joining them in this relief donation drive. All items collected in the drive will be taken to distribution centers in Austin by a semi truck and driver provided by a member of C3.

The Austin Disaster Relief Network has provided a list of items they are collecting for shelters. Those wanting to participate in this effort are asked to limit their donations to items on this list.

Donations may be dropped at Twin Lakes Plaza Mall at the following days and times:

Friday

5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Saturday

8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Sunday

1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Monday

7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Tuesday/Wednesday

7:00 – 9:00 a.m.
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Donated items may be dropped off at the double doors of Twin Lakes Plaza Mall in the loading zone between Goodwill and Hobby Lobby. To maintain safe and efficient traffic flow in the drop-off area, please enter the drop-off area by driving behind the mall and turning left into the loading zone between Goodwill and Hobby Lobby.

After dropping off donations, exit the drop-off area by continuing through the loading zone into the mall parking area in front of Goodwill and Hobby Lobby.
