An Ozark County fireman, 49-year-old Robert Peat of Zanoni, was responding to a fire call Monday afternoon at 4:27 when his vehicle collided with a second vehicle in Gainesville.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper J.O. Prater says the accident occurred when Peat, driving a 2005 Peterbilt 1500 fire truck, was en route to a fire call with emergency lights and siren activated. Peat turned on to High School Road in Gainesville from Missouri 181 when his fire truck collided with a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Kenton Webb of Gaineville. The report does not indicate which driver was at fault.

The report noted Webb refused medical treatment at the scene. His vehicle received extensive damage, while the fire truck sustained minor damages.
