A Level 2 sex offender who registered as homeless with the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office in October is being held with no bond in Izard County.

Izard County Sheriff Jack Yancey says 36-year-old Jason Brannon was arrested Sunday and charged with failure to appear. Information from the Izard County Sheriff’s office says Brannon is from Gassville.

At the time Brannon registered in Baxter County, Sheriff John Montgomery said he was convicted most recently of first degree sexual abuse in March 1999. The offense involved Brannon forcefully grabbing and restraining a 14-year-old female while touching her inappropriately.

Izard County authorities report Brannon is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit Court in mid January. His charges in Izard County were not disclosed.
