Baxter County Assessor Jayme Nicholson has announced she will be seeking a fourth term in the 2018 election cycle.
Nicholson says she has enjoyed serving the residents of Baxter County over the past five years and would love to continue to do so. She says she does not take her responsibility lightly as a public servant, and she is always looking for ways to serve Baxter County residents better.
Since taking office in 2013, Nicholson says she and her staff have progressively become more taxpayer friendly and professional by bringing records into the 21st Century. They have done so by making the records more easily accessible via the web for both the general public and the professional offices who access the records, such as private appraisers, real estate agencies, law offices and abstract companies.
In addition, Nicholson says the records are more accurate as a result of mapping every legal description as the deeds are worked to insure the location of the property when changing ownership.
Nicholson has served for the past two years on the Arkansas Assessors Executive Board and begins 2018 as the group’s secretary/treasurer.
Nicholson is a State Certified Senior Appraiser and is continuing her education towards her Certified Appraiser Evaluator, which is an international designation.
Nicholson has been a resident of Mountain Home for the last 20 years, where she and her husband, Scott, have raised their two daughters, Stephanie and Ashley.
