The former Hodgson Mill plant in Gainesville is home to a new company. According to the Ozark County Times, Ozark Vinyl has occupied the facility on County Road 806 since early December.
Ozark Vinal is a plastic-recycling business, and it has a contract with Baxter Healthcare Corporation to recycle scrap plastic. Ozark Vinyl shares the space with the Ozark County Food Pantry which has operated out of the building over the last few years.
The structure formerly housed production facilities for Hodgson Mill whole-grain consumer products. It was given to the nonprofit Gainesville Industrial and Community Development Committee by Siemer Milling Company who purchased Hodgson Mill in 1988. The new owner eventually moved production to Illinois leaving the building vacant.
A committee member states Ozark Vinyl currently has five employees, but it looks to increase its workforce to ten or 12 employees in the near future. Applications are being accepted at the building located west of the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department.
