Two area basketball teams played in the championship games of the Hillcrest Junior Invitational Tournament Saturday at Lynn.
Salem was able to take the girls’ title in a battle between Junior Lady Greyhounds. Salem was a 38-24 winner over Sloan-Hendrix.
The boys’ game ended up giving Izard County its first loss of the season as they fell to unbeaten Corning 44-32. Coby Everett led the Junior Cougars with 15 points. Izard County drops to 18-1 on the year.
