Paws for Reading, a therapy dog program, will be held at the Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00 for homeschooled students.

Paws for Reading is a partnership program between Paws of Love and the Baxter County Library. The program pairs independent readers grades K-6 with registered therapy dogs. The dog patiently listens to the child read, which helps the child build confidence in his or her reading ability and communication skills. This low-pressure opportunity to practice reading can be especially helpful for children who are struggling with reading aloud. No registration required.

This program is available for sponsorship. For additional information about children’s programs contact the children’s library at 870-580-0703. For information about all library programs visit the library’s website at www.baxlib.org. The Donald W. Reynolds Library Serving Baxter County is located at 300 Library Hill in Mountain Home.
