
Emergency personnel were dispatched to an initial report of a car versus school bus, possibly from Norfork Public Schools, accident on Highway 5 South, close to Briarcliff, at 7:40 Thursday morning. The extent of the accident, including injuries, was unknown at the time of this report.
According to Superintendent of Norfork Public Schools Mike Seay, an Arkansas State Trooper responding to the scene thought the Norfork schoolbus was involved, however it was determined the bus was broken down near the scene of the accident and not involved.
All children on that bus are reported to be safe and at school.
At 7:51 Thursday reports indicated a total of three vehicles involved.
Dispatch radio conversations indicate another accident approximately 100 yards from the original accident.
At least two individuals were transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center.
