MH basketball teams begin road stand at Searcy

High school basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule as Mountain Home begins a two-game road stand. The Bombers and Lady Bombers continue district play as they go to Searcy.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 9-10 on the season and 2-3 in the 6A/5A-2. The Lady Bombers invoked the mercy rule Friday on Greenbrier. Searcy is 3-17 and 0-5. The Lady Lions were beat up by Vilonia on Saturday.
The Mountain Home boys 9-10 overall and 4-1 in the district. The Bombers suffered their first district loss four nights ago to Greenbrier. Searcy is 6-14 and 2-3. The Lions defeated Vilonia over the weekend.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 5 p.m. The varsity contests begin around 6:00 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere in the 6A/5A-2, Batesville hosts Beebe, and Greenbrier entertains Vilonia.

A few area boys’ teams will begin action in the Sparta Tournament. Bakersfield and Forsyth get underway at 6:00, and Gainesville meets Lighthouse Christian at 7:30.

Dora’s boys will be in Mountain Grove for their first game in the Family Pharmacy Panther Classic. The Falcons take on Willow Springs at 7:30.

In other high school basketball, Cotter travels to Calico Rock, Norfork is home against Timbo, Flippin hosts Lead Hill for Senior Night, Bruno-Pyatt entertains Jasper, Salem is home against Sloan-Hendrix, Mammoth Spring makes the trip to Brockwell to face Izard County, the Melbourne boys head to Hoxie, St. Joe travels to Deer, Marshall hosts Valley Springs, Mountain View entertains Cedar Ridge, Rural Special travels to Greers Ferry to play West Side, Bergman makes the trip to Berryville, and Omaha is home against Eureka Springs.
