MH sweeps Searcy to end regular season

The Mountain Home High School basketball teams wrapped up the regular season by winning both games at home Thursday night.

The Mountain Home boys avenged an earlier loss by topping the Lions 69-61. David Wehmeyer had a huge night for the Bombers finishing with 25 points and 25 rebounds. Garrett Dietsche scored 17 and Colton Peters had 13 points. The Bombers dominated on the boards, out-reboudning Searcy 44-17.
Mountain Home never trailed in the game and was able to overcome 20 turnovers to get the victory.
The Bombers improve to 12-14 on the season and they finish 6A/5A-2 District play at 7-5 and in third place.
Searcy is now 9-18 and 5-7.

The Lady Bombers put on a show early and cruised to a 57-20 win over Searcy. Mountain Home raced out to a 30-4 lead at the end of the first quarter thanks to the hot shooting of Hannah Pfiefer. She hit six three pointers and scored 22 points in the first period alone. She finished the night with eight treys and 30 points.
Mountain Home forced the Lady Lions into 22 turnovers.
The Lady Bombers are now 13-13 overall and finish tied for fourth in the district with a 6-6 record.
Searcy falls to 3-24 and 0-12.

The Mountain Home teams return to action Saturday with the first round of the 6A East Conference Tournament. The Lady Bombers will be at home to play Pine Bluff at 2:00. The Bombers travel to Little Rock Hall for a 3:00 tip.
