Police say home invader fatally shot in northeast Arkansas

RECTOR, Ark. (AP)   Arkansas State Police say a man who forced his way into a home in northeast Arkansas was fatally shot by the homeowner.

State police say in a news release that police in Rector were called to the home shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday and found 40-year-old Jeffery Baker dead.

Police say the homeowner reported that Baker had “forcefully entered” the home and was shot inside the residence.

The homeowner has not been identified and no arrests have been announced.

The body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory to determine the cause of death.
