Makeltee Lynn Ford of Flippin entered a guilty plea to amended drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and was given six years probation.

The initial charges against the 21-year-old included possession of LSD, methamphetamine and Xanax. Ford’s defense attorney, Paul Bayless, said tests run by the Arkansas Crime Lab could not confirm one of the three substances was LSD and Ford was not charged with possessing that particular drug.

Ford was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on State Highway 5 in early June 2017. She was arrested when a small bag, Ford admitted was hers, was found to hold three syringes and what appeared to be a plastic bag containing methamphetamine. A further search of the bag was made when Ford was brought to the Baxter County jail, and the Xanax and what was then believed to be LSD were found.

Ford has also been in the addiction treatment program operated by Care Center Ministries in Mountain Home.
