An Izard County man, 30-year-old Matthew Frank Feher of Horseshoe Bend, has been charged with felony domestic battery. The charge follows an incident in which Feher is alleged to have choked a 65-year-old man after pulling him out of bed and throwing him to the floor. Feher serves as a caregiver for the older man.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the older man told law enforcement he was able to get into the bathroom as Feher began yelling at him. He said Feher barged into the bathroom and wrapped his arms around his neck. He said his neck was compressed until he could not breathe and he saw stars.
At that point, Feher is alleged to have dropped the man to the floor and threatened to kill him. When Feher left the room, the man escaped to a nearby apartment.
The report notes the man had a scrape on his right elbow still bleeding slightly and marks on his right knee where he landed. Slight irritation around his neck was also visible.
During the interview with Feher, he acknowledged the two men had a fight, but said it was just an argument. Feher told law enforcement the older man falls a lot and must have fallen out of bed. He also denied choking the older man.
Bond for Feher was set at $10,000.
