Mountain Home Police have arrested 18-year-old Kiara Howell following a traffic stop Thursday.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the traffic stop was initiated when the officer spotted the Mountain Home teen he knew to be on active parole as a passenger in the vehicle.
With an active search waiver on file, Howell was searched, and a marijuana cigarette was discovered. A search of her purse revealed a baggie containing Xanax, a scheduled IV narcotic.
As Howell was being placed under arrest and asked if she had anything illegal on her person, she advised she had “dope” concealed in her boot. She removed a brown bag containing two syringes. Also concealed in her waistband was a small bag containing four baggies of approximately three grams of a white crystalline substance, a glass smoking pipe with residue, and a syringe containing brown liquid. All field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Howell’s bond was set at $2,500, and she is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court in April.
