Heath Lindsey of Norfork was given five years probation after pleading guilty to a case in which he was charged with threatening his father-in-law with a handgun.

According to court records, a Baxter County deputy sheriff went to an address along Ainsworth Lane on Christmas Eve 2016 in response to a disturbance call. The deputy was told the 30-year-old Lindsey had pushed his way into the home of his in-laws and then pulled what was described as a “long black pistol.”

He is then alleged to have put the weapon to his father-in-law’s head threatening to kill him. Lindsey was eventually made to leave the home and was picked up and arrested at an apartment complex in Mountain Home.

During the plea taking process, 14th Judicial District Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kerry Chism said the in-laws did not want to prosecute Lindsey, but the state chose to proceed with the case. Chism told Judge John Putman the plea would make Lindsey a convicted felon, and he would not be able to own or be in contact with weapons.

Judge Putman warned Lindsey to get “control of your anger problem” or he would likely wind up in court again.
