
The Mountain Home High School baseball team had mixed results Friday in the Best of the West Tournament in Covington, Tennessee.
The Bombers began the day with an 8-1 victory over Jackson, Missouri. Trey Jordan picked up the win on the mound as he pitched a complete game, struck out three batters and gave up four hits. Will Gross and Trace Aungst led the Mountain Home offense with two hits each.
The Bombers didn’t fare as well in their second game as they fell to the host Chargers 10-2. Satch Harris suffered the loss after pitching 3 2/3 innings, recording two strikeouts and giving up eight hits and nine runs. Mountain Home was led offensively by Gross with four base hits.
Gainesville wrapped up the week with a victory on the road. The Bulldogs defeated Sparta by a final of 12-10.
