D.W. Reynolds Library celebrates National Library Week

The 2018 National Library Week begins Sunday through Saturday, and the D.W. Reynolds Library serving Baxter County is taking part in the celebration. The library plans to host a number of programs, including After School Story Times with Community Guest Readers, National Library Workers Day, and Bring a Friend.After School Story Times will take place Monday through Thursday afternoon at 4:00. Guest readers include Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Twin Lakes Radio Operations Manager Bob Van Haaren, Children’s Director at Real Life Church Liz Wynn, Mayor of Gassville Jeff Brain, and Baxter County Judge Mickey Pendergrass.

National Library Worker’s Day will happen on Tuesday. This program offers a chance for community members to recognize the valuable contributions made by both local and national library workers. To recognize the work of a library worker, visit http://ala-apa.org/nlwd/ .

Bring a Friend is a program that encourages those with a library card to share the library with others who may not have a card. During the entire month of April, current library card holders are invited to bring a friend to get a card. Those who bring a friend, as well as the friend, will be entered to win prize. Winners will be drawn for prizes on May 1st.
