A Salem man, 30-year-old Kaleb West, who allegedly attempted to hit his former girlfriend’s vehicle head-on with his truck, has been charged with two felony offenses.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the incident occurred Wednesday as the woman was traveling north on Whippoorwill Road with a minor child in her vehicle. She told law enforcement she observed a truck driven by West traveling south swerve to her side of the road, as if he were trying to hit her vehicle in the front.

The woman said she moved toward the ditch to keep from being hit.

West was charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, as well as a misdemeanor count of violation of a domestic order of protection. He was held without bond until his appearance in Fulton County Circuit Court.
