The new website is offering downloadable fonts based on the handwriting of several well-known late artists, including Lennon, Bowie, late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, Leonard Cohen and French singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg.
“The Songwriters fonts have been created to give musicians inspiration,” reads a statement on the website. “Writing lyrics with the handwriting of influential songwriters helps imagination to develop. Being in the mood of Bowie, Cobain, Cohen, Gainsbourg, Lennon, might be purely imaginative…but that’s precisely the point.”
SongwritersFont.com also features a profile of each artist, along with photos of some examples of their handwritten lyrics.
The site advises that each font is “for personal use only.”
