Motorcycle accident causes serious injury

A motorcycle accident Wednesday evening has seriously injured a Gainesville man. According to a report from Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper A.R. Johnson, 62-year-old Douglas Casteel was westbound on Highway 160, 2 miles west of Caulfield, when his motorcycle traveled off the right side of the road. His motorcycle struck a Chevron sign and overturned, ejecting Casteel.

He was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.

Casteel’s condition was not available at the time of this report.

He was wearing a helmet at the time of the 5:00 p.m. accident.
