A Yellville woman, 51-year-old Leeann Kenniston, has been sentenced to three years supervised probation on a felony drug charge following a negotiated plea in Marion County Circuit Court.
Online court records indicate Kenniston entered a guilty plea to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia in late February. A second felony drug charge, a misdemeanor drug count and the offense of driving on a suspended sentence were dismissed. Kenniston was also ordered to pay $1,775 in fines.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the charges stem from a traffic stop by an Arkansas State Police trooper in June 2017 on State Highway 202 in Marion County at the intersection with Marion County Road 8059.
Kenniston was stopped after the trooper observed her vehicle had an expired license. It was then determined Kenniston’s driver’s license was suspended, and she had an active warrant with the Cotter Police Department.
The Yellville woman was arrested without incident. A search of her vehicle revealed three clear glass pipes containing burn marks and white crystal and marijuana residue in a duffle bag. Also found was a clear plastic baggie containing a white crystal substance field testing positive for methamphetamine.
